Background
Our Outsource (Bookkeeping and Management Accounts) team is growing and the work coming in through new clients determines it to be hard-working and continually developing. The team consists of
Bookkeepers and Management Accountants. Over the years a few have been part-time and others more recently joining, more full-time.

We are looking for a further full-time Management Account to help the partners. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with people management experience.

We have an Audit & Accounts department and Tax, and so there won’t be tax work required. It is important that the candidate knows this, in case they want more exposure than we can offer.


The role
We are an independent, award winning firm of Chartered Accountants, Auditors and Tax Advisors based in Buckinghamshire. We support businesses and individuals across London and the South-East and we are looking to grow a busy department.

The value of client turnover ranges from very small to large; examples being a consultant with a turnover of £100k to an international firm turning over £80 million. Location of clients is usually fairly local, (Buckinghamshire or Oxfordshire) and a lot in London.

We have a client with a number of restaurants, all requiring Service Charge work, Management Accounts and Bookkeeping. We are waiting to hear about a further similar client. This work warrants many conversations with the Partner managing the client, and independent work. There will be 1 or 2 people also covering Service Charge work as well as Management Accounts and occasional bookkeeping. Unfortunately there will be days where one of these will outweigh the other, and that should be expected. The role will involve some bookkeeping and data entry with the ability yt to carry out management accounts later in the month.

However this is an ideal time to join a company that is looking for leadership in the department. Even the non-managerial positions can make their mark in the department.

The partners are looking for competent and independent workers, able to be a part of a team with previous practice experience, dealing with many clients sometimes in a pressurised environment dedicated to meeting deadlines.

Skills required
• Must have at least 4 years’ work experience within a practice
• To be qualified
• Service Charge experience possibly required
• Good working knowledge of management accounts / bookkeeping software
• Computer literate when using Microsoft Excel and Word

• The ability to use their own initiative and work proactively (come with a solution).
• Time management.
• Professional appearance for client-facing meetings • Must enjoy working as part of a team.
• Confidentiality is a must.
