They're seeking an experienced and motivated Personal Tax Manager to lead their growing portfolio of personal tax clients. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership of high-quality personal tax compliance and advisory services whilst mentoring junior staff and collaborating with partners to expand the tax offering.
Job Title: Personal Tax Manager
Location: Reading Office, RG6
Salary: Up to £70,000!
Role Responsbilities -
Client Management & Compliance:
- Prepare and manage tax returns for a diverse portfolio of clients, including landlords
- Review tax returns prepared by team members to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Liaise directly with HMRC on compliance checks, Let Property Campaign, Worldwide Disclosure Facility, and 60-day CGT reporting
- Ensure timely communication of tax liabilities to clients
Advisory & Planning:
- Provide comprehensive tax planning advice covering all taxes, including inheritance tax
- Advise clients on complex residency matters
- Maintain current knowledge of evolving tax legislation
- Deliver exceptional client service in all advisory interactions
Team Leadership & Operations:
- Oversee the firm's personal tax compliance to meet all deadlines and KPIs
- Support and develop junior team members
- Report weekly to the Tax Director on portfolio performance and client matters
What They're Looking For -
Essential Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a practice tax environment
- ATT or CTA qualified (or in final stages of CTA qualification)
- Proven track record of delivering excellent client service
- Strong ability to work independently and meet strict deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
