The Opportunity
Due to significant growth in their corporate tax division, our client is seeking a highly technical Corporate Tax Manager to join their Bristol team. Key Responsibilities
Technical Corporate Tax Management
- Prepare and review complex corporation tax computations and returns
- Handle group relief claims, consortium relief, and loss utilization strategies
- Manage transfer pricing documentation and compliance requirements
- Advise on corporate restructuring, mergers, and acquisitions tax implications
- Deal with complex capital allowances claims and computations
- Handle international tax matters including CFC rules and hybrid mismatch regulations
Advanced Tax Planning
- Develop sophisticated tax planning strategies for corporate clients
- Advise on tax-efficient corporate structures and reorganizations
- Handle derivative and financial instruments taxation
- Provide guidance on intangible asset regimes and patent box planning
- Manage diverted profits tax and digital services tax compliance
- Advise on R&D tax credits and other corporate incentives
Technical Advisory Services
- Provide expert advice on complex technical tax issues
- Handle HMRC enquiries, disputes, and technical clearances
- Support clients through tax authority audits and investigations
- Conduct tax due diligence on corporate transactions
- Advise on VAT implications of complex corporate structures
- Deliver technical training to clients and internal teams
Client Relationship Management
- Manage relationships with key corporate clients
- Lead technical discussions and presentations
- Coordinate multi-disciplinary advisory teams
- Identify opportunities for additional technical services
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of clients' business operations
Essential Requirements
Professional Qualifications
- CTA qualification essential
- ACA/ACCA qualification highly desirable
- 6-8 years of corporate tax experience in practice
- Demonstrable expertise in complex corporate tax matters
Technical Expertise
- Expert knowledge of UK corporation tax legislation and case law
- Deep understanding of group taxation and consortium relief rules
- Extensive experience with transfer pricing rules and documentation
- Strong knowledge of international tax provisions (CFC, transfer pricing, DTTs)
- Experience with corporate restructuring and M&A tax advice
- Advanced understanding of capital allowances and intangible asset regimes
