Role Summary
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented assurance professional who can effectively balance technical expertise with strong project management skills. The successful candidate will oversee multiple client engagements while contributing to the firm's reputation for quality and excellence in assurance services.
Primary Responsibilities
Engagement Management
- Execute audit and review engagements in accordance with professional standards and firm policies
- Ensure timely completion of projects within established budgets and quality parameters
- Prepare comprehensive engagement planning documents, including risk assessments and audit programs
- Coordinate with clients to obtain necessary documentation and schedule fieldwork activities
Quality Assurance & Technical Leadership
- Perform detailed reviews of workpapers and financial statements prepared by engagement team members
- Provide technical guidance on complex accounting and auditing matters
- Research emerging professional standards and communicate updates to team members
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, GAAS, and other applicable reporting frameworks
Team Leadership & Development
- Supervise and mentor staff accountants, seniors, and experienced associates
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback for professional development
- Assign tasks and monitor progress to ensure efficient workflow and quality deliverables
- Foster a collaborative work environment that promotes learning and professional growth
Client Relationship Management
- Maintain strong professional relationships with client management and key stakeholders
- Communicate audit findings and recommendations in a clear, professional manner
- Address client questions and concerns promptly and accurately
- Identify opportunities for additional services and business development
Strategic Initiatives
- Contribute to firm-wide quality control and methodology enhancement projects
- Participate in proposal development and client presentation activities
- Support practice development initiatives and new client acquisition efforts
- Collaborate with partners on strategic planning and business development activities
Qualifications & Requirements
Educational Background
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA certification mandatory (active license in good standing)
Professional Experience
- Minimum 5 years of assurance experience in public accounting environment
- Demonstrated progression in responsibilities and technical competencies
- Experience with various industries and engagement types preferred
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of auditing standards and financial reporting requirements
- Proficiency with audit software and technology platforms
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data analytics tools
- Experience with engagement management and workflow systems
Leadership & Communication Skills
