Audit Senior

Overview

We are seeking an Audit Senior with a strong interest in the not-for-profit sector to join a growing and dynamic audit team. This role offers the opportunity to manage meaningful audit engagements for charities, educational institutions, and other purpose-driven organisations, while developing your technical expertise and leadership skills.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead Audit Engagements
    Manage audits from planning through to completion, ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, FRS 102, Charity SORP, and ISA standards.

  • Prepare & Review Accounts
    Draft and review statutory financial statements for a variety of not-for-profit organisations, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance.

  • Client Engagement
    Act as a key point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships and advising on audit, governance, and financial reporting matters.

  • Team Supervision
    Oversee and support junior team members, providing on-the-job training, mentoring, and performance feedback.

  • Quality & Compliance
    Ensure audit work meets high professional standards, managing budgets, timelines, and documentation.

  • Practice Contribution
    Contribute to the growth of the audit function by supporting business development initiatives, participating in sector events, and sharing technical insights.



About You

  • ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 3+ years' experience in audit

  • Demonstrated knowledge of not-for-profit audits, including Charity SORP and sector-specific reporting requirements

  • Strong technical, organisational, and analytical skills

  • Confident communicator with the ability to build positive client relationships

  • Experience supervising and developing junior staff

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and motivated by delivering high-quality work
