Professional Services Client
We are working with an established payroll bureau in the Aylesbury area seeking an experienced Payroll Manager/ Supervisor to lead their payroll operations. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned payroll professional to take ownership of a well-established client portfolio whilst enjoying exceptional flexibility.
The Role
As Payroll Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 200 SME clients, managing a small team of one direct report. This position offers genuine autonomy and the chance to shape payroll operations within a supportive professional services environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage monthly and weekly payroll processing for circa 200 clients
- Lead and develop one team member
- Ensure compliance with current payroll legislation and HMRC requirements
- Handle complex payroll queries and client relationship management
- Oversee pension auto-enrolment processes
- Manage year-end procedures including P60s and P11Ds
- Maintain accurate payroll records and reporting
What You Need
- Minimum 5 years' payroll experience within professional services
- Proven experience managing client payrolls
- Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and HMRC procedures
- Previous team management or supervisory experience a bonus as the role has 1 direct report
- Proficiency with modern payroll software systems
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong client service and communication skills
