We are seeking an experienced Corporate Tax Manager to join an established accountancy practice in Exeter. This is an excellent opportunity for a CTA-qualified tax professional to manage client portfolios, deliver technical advisory work, and develop your team while earning £46,000 - £52,000.

This Corporate Tax Manager position is ideal for someone who thrives on variety and enjoys connecting with clients. You'll work with diverse businesses across multiple sectors, managing both compliance and advisory projects while developing your leadership capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Manage corporate tax compliance for a portfolio of clients, including standalone entities and complex groups
Provide advisory support on ad hoc projects such as reorganisations, R&D tax, and share schemes
Review tax computations and returns, ensuring accuracy and timely submission to HMRC
Deliver tax advice on loss relief, transfer pricing, capital allowances, and group structures
Manage client relationships as their key tax contact
Handle HMRC enquiries and resolve technical queries confidently
Oversee workflow including deadlines, budgets, and billing
Support tax planning strategies to minimise client liabilities
Identify tax-saving opportunities and provide strategic advice aligned with business objectives
Collaborate on tax due diligence and advisory projects
Mentor and develop junior tax team members
Participate in business development and client pitching activities
Stay up to date with changes in tax legislation and ensure compliance
About You
You are a CTA-qualified tax professional with strong technical knowledge and proven client management experience. You demonstrate excellent judgment when handling complex tax matters and communicate clearly at all levels. You enjoy managing people, are proactive in identifying tax planning opportunities, and can multi-task across a wide range of projects and relationships.
Essential Requirements
CTA qualified (or near completion)
Strong corporate tax technical skills covering both compliance and advisory
Proven experience managing client portfolios
Knowledge of UK tax regulations and compliance requirements
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to develop, coach, and lead staff
Strong analytical skills with a commercial approach
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Desirable:
ACA or ACCA qualification alongside CTA
Experience with international tax matters
Exposure to complex group structures
