About the Role

A growing and dynamic accountancy firm based in Harrow is seeking a motivated Semi-Senior Accountant to join its team. The firm provides a full range of services including accounting, audit, tax and advisory to a diverse portfolio of clients, ranging from individuals to international businesses.

This role is ideal for someone with UK practice experience who is either part-qualified or newly qualified and is looking to take the next step in their accounting career in a supportive and professional environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Preparation of year-end financial statements for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders

  • Preparation of corporation tax computations and CT600 returns

  • Preparing and reviewing VAT returns

  • Assisting on statutory audits, including planning and fieldwork

  • Managing a varied portfolio of clients under supervision

  • Liaising with HMRC on client matters

  • Communicating directly with clients to gather and clarify information

  • Supporting senior staff on ad hoc assignments and consultancy work

  • Monitoring deadlines and ensuring work is delivered on time and within budget

  • Reviewing the work of junior team members when required



Requirements



Essential

  • Minimum 2-3 years of UK accountancy practice experience

  • Part-qualified ACA/ACCA or newly qualified

  • Solid understanding of UK accounting standards and tax regulations

  • Experience using accounting software such as IRIS, Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage

  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Good organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines

  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively



Desirable

  • Exposure to audit assignments

  • Experience with cloud-based accounting systems

  • Understanding of international client needs (desirable but not essential)
