The Opportunity
A leading independent accountancy practice in Northamptonshire is seeking a driven and client-focused Accounts Senior / Semi Senior to join its growing team.

Key Responsibilities of the Accounts Senior
Prepare statutory accounts and tax returns for limited companies, partnerships, and sole traders under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
Advise clients on tax liabilities, payment deadlines, and planning opportunities, ensuring all submissions meet HMRC and Companies House deadlines.
Liaise directly with clients to obtain key information, demonstrating proactive communication and strong attention to detail.
Assist partners and managers with tax planning, business advisory projects, and wealth management initiatives.
Identify opportunities to add value through tax efficiency, process improvements, and digital transformation (e.g. migration to cloud software).
Supervise and coach junior team members, providing constructive feedback and supporting their technical development.
Monitor your own workflow, budgets, and billing to ensure commercial efficiency and strong recovery rates.
Support client software queries (Xero, Sage, CCH, etc.) and bookkeeping reviews where required.
Contribute to firmwide initiatives, client events, and cross-department collaboration to enhance client service delivery.
About You
ACA or ACCA qualified / part-qualified, with at least 2 years' experience in general practice.
Confident preparing accounts and tax returns independently to final review stage.
Proficient in CCH, Xero, Sage Line 50, and other accounting systems (training provided if required).
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills - able to engage confidently with clients, managers, and peers.
Strong problem-solving mindset and commercial awareness.
