Semi/Senior Accountant
Job Purpose
Use your knowledge and skills to deliver a first-class service to clients while providing accounts and audit support within a busy accountancy environment.
Duties
Oversee client bookkeeping
Manage and take responsibility for your own portfolio of clients
Prepare complex company financial statements
Prepare interim management accounts
Prepare personal tax returns
Prepare partnership accounts and returns
Review and submit quarterly VAT returns
Produce forecasts and business projections (desirable, not essential)
Attend client meetings and liaise with directors and business owners
Train team members and allocate duties
Undertake company secretarial duties (desirable)
Prepare P11Ds (desirable)
Provide payroll support (desirable)
Carry out any other general accountancy or administrative tasks as required

Skills and Experience
Minimum of 4 years' experience in an accountancy practice
Proficient in Sage 50, Xero, and QuickBooks (essential)
Experience with IRIS and Sage Business Cloud (advantageous)

Exceptional communication skills with a professional telephone manner
Strong written and technical skills
Effective prioritisation and organisational abilities
Ability to handle confidential information appropriately
Strong record-keeping skills
Willingness to work additional paid hours when required
Qualifications
ACA/ACCA qualified or close to completion
