About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Audit Senior to join our Manhattan-based audit team with a primary focus on Not-For-Profit (NFP) organizations. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and hands-on experience managing audit engagements from planning through completion.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of NFP clients, including charities, cultural institutions, foundations, and educational organizations.

  • Oversee fieldwork, supervise junior staff, and ensure audits are performed in compliance with US GAAP, GAAS, and relevant NFP reporting standards.

  • Perform risk assessments, develop audit plans, and identify areas for efficiency improvements.

  • Review workpapers, financial statements, and audit documentation for accuracy and completeness.

  • Communicate findings, recommendations, and audit progress to managers, partners, and client leadership.

  • Maintain strong client relationships by providing responsive service and acting as a trusted advisor.

  • Assist with training and mentoring junior team members.

  • Stay current on industry trends, FASB updates, and regulatory requirements affecting NFP entities.



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's a plus.

  • 3+ years of audit experience with a strong emphasis on Not-For-Profit clients.

  • CPA license or progress toward completion preferred.

  • Strong understanding of NFP accounting standards, including restricted funds and grant compliance.

  • Proficiency with audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
