About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Audit Senior to join our Manhattan-based audit team with a primary focus on Not-For-Profit (NFP) organizations. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and hands-on experience managing audit engagements from planning through completion.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and execute audit engagements for a diverse portfolio of NFP clients, including charities, cultural institutions, foundations, and educational organizations.
Oversee fieldwork, supervise junior staff, and ensure audits are performed in compliance with US GAAP, GAAS, and relevant NFP reporting standards.
Perform risk assessments, develop audit plans, and identify areas for efficiency improvements.
Review workpapers, financial statements, and audit documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Communicate findings, recommendations, and audit progress to managers, partners, and client leadership.
Maintain strong client relationships by providing responsive service and acting as a trusted advisor.
Assist with training and mentoring junior team members.
Stay current on industry trends, FASB updates, and regulatory requirements affecting NFP entities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's a plus.
3+ years of audit experience with a strong emphasis on Not-For-Profit clients.
CPA license or progress toward completion preferred.
Strong understanding of NFP accounting standards, including restricted funds and grant compliance.
Proficiency with audit software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
