Semi Senior Auditor
We are seeking an Audit Semi Senior to join our Audit team and support the delivery of high-quality audit services to a diverse portfolio of clients. The role involves hands-on audit work, client relationship management, and supporting junior team members, while progressing toward professional qualification.
Key Responsibilities
Audit Delivery
Participate in audit planning meetings and contribute to risk assessment discussions.
Prepare or delegate key audit tasks in line with agreed budgets and internal quality standards.
Liaise with Audit Seniors or Assistant Managers on complex or high-risk areas.
Monitor progress of assigned work and maintain proactive communication with clients and internal stakeholders.
Prepare audit file sections including (but not limited to):
Audit programmes
Sampling documentation
Debtors/sales and creditors
Bank reconciliations
P&L reviews
Wages and payroll
Stock (non-complex)
Investments
Fixed assets
VAT
Opening balances
System notes
Use of data analytics
Draft completion sections, consulting senior team members on going concern, estimates, and fraud considerations.
Support with audit planning and completion tasks as delegated.
Ensure all review points from managers and Responsible Individuals are cleared promptly.
Reflect on learnings from each audit and apply them to future engagements.
Client Interaction
Act as a primary point of contact for allocated clients during audit fieldwork.
Respond to calls and correspondence within agreed timeframes, ensuring commitments are met.
Discuss audit queries with client contacts where appropriate and escalate issues when needed.
Leadership & Team Support
Support junior team members involved in audit delivery.
Set clear task plans, expectations, and milestones for each piece of work.
Provide constructive feedback to all team members on quality, adherence to standards, errors, and opportunities for improvement.
Requirements
ACA or ACCA part-qualified with relevant audit experience.
Strong organisational and communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
