Audit Semi Senior - Role Overview

We are seeking an Audit Semi Senior to join our Audit team and support the delivery of high-quality audit services to a diverse portfolio of clients. The role involves hands-on audit work, client relationship management, and supporting junior team members, while progressing toward professional qualification.



Key Responsibilities



Audit Delivery

  • Participate in audit planning meetings and contribute to risk assessment discussions.

  • Prepare or delegate key audit tasks in line with agreed budgets and internal quality standards.

  • Liaise with Audit Seniors or Assistant Managers on complex or high-risk areas.

  • Monitor progress of assigned work and maintain proactive communication with clients and internal stakeholders.

  • Prepare audit file sections including (but not limited to):

    • Audit programmes

    • Sampling documentation

    • Debtors/sales and creditors

    • Bank reconciliations

    • P&L reviews

    • Wages and payroll

    • Stock (non-complex)

    • Investments

    • Fixed assets

    • VAT

    • Opening balances

    • System notes

    • Use of data analytics

  • Draft completion sections, consulting senior team members on going concern, estimates, and fraud considerations.

  • Support with audit planning and completion tasks as delegated.

  • Ensure all review points from managers and Responsible Individuals are cleared promptly.

  • Reflect on learnings from each audit and apply them to future engagements.



Client Interaction

  • Act as a primary point of contact for allocated clients during audit fieldwork.

  • Respond to calls and correspondence within agreed timeframes, ensuring commitments are met.

  • Discuss audit queries with client contacts where appropriate and escalate issues when needed.



Leadership & Team Support

  • Support junior team members involved in audit delivery.

  • Set clear task plans, expectations, and milestones for each piece of work.

  • Provide constructive feedback to all team members on quality, adherence to standards, errors, and opportunities for improvement.



Requirements

  • ACA or ACCA part-qualified with relevant audit experience.

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
