  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with both internal and external clients.

  • Manage expectations of partners and senior staff to ensure projects are completed within realistic timeframes.

  • Complete fieldwork for more challenging audit areas (e.g., stock, debtors, creditors, intangibles, investments, provisions, contingencies).

  • Monitor audit progress against budget and timeline, addressing issues and rebalancing workloads where necessary.

  • Review and sign off audit sections, resolving outstanding issues raised by junior staff.

  • Prepare reclassification and adjusting journals and ensure correct financial statement disclosure.

  • Manage the finalisation process for smaller audits, including clearing review points, preparing audit highlight memos, performing final analytical reviews, assessing going concern, and ensuring financial statements align with audit work.

  • Prepare statutory accounts and complete disclosure checklists.

  • Liaise with the tax team to resolve queries related to corporation tax computations.

  • Take a supervisory or assistant manager role on smaller, straightforward audits.

  • Perform other ad hoc duties as needed.
