Senior tax accountant

Position Overview

The Senior Tax Accountant will take ownership of complex tax engagements, support clients with strategic guidance, and play a key role in strengthening the firm's tax practice. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys problem-solving, values accuracy, and is looking for long-term growth in a supportive environment.



Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts

  • Conduct thorough tax research and provide recommendations based on findings

  • Assist in tax planning initiatives and identify opportunities for clients to improve tax efficiency

  • Manage multiple engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines

  • Review work prepared by junior staff and provide coaching to support their development

  • Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and proactive service

  • Stay current with tax laws, regulations, and industry developments

  • Support management with special projects, audits, and advisory work as needed



Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's in Taxation a plus

  • CPA license required or in active pursuit

  • 3-6+ years of tax preparation and review experience within a public accounting firm

  • Strong technical knowledge of federal and multi-state tax regulations

  • Proficiency with tax software and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
