Senior tax accountant
The Senior Tax Accountant will take ownership of complex tax engagements, support clients with strategic guidance, and play a key role in strengthening the firm's tax practice. Key Responsibilities
Prepare and review complex federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trusts
Conduct thorough tax research and provide recommendations based on findings
Assist in tax planning initiatives and identify opportunities for clients to improve tax efficiency
Manage multiple engagements simultaneously while meeting deadlines
Review work prepared by junior staff and provide coaching to support their development
Maintain strong client relationships through clear communication and proactive service
Stay current with tax laws, regulations, and industry developments
Support management with special projects, audits, and advisory work as needed
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; Master's in Taxation a plus
CPA license required or in active pursuit
3-6+ years of tax preparation and review experience within a public accounting firm
Strong technical knowledge of federal and multi-state tax regulations
Proficiency with tax software and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
