I'm currently partnering with a leading, forward-thinking UK accountancy group to identify an Audit Director with RI status for their Oxfordshire team. This is a confidential search, ideal for a senior audit professional seeking a strategic, hands-on leadership role without compromising technical involvement.
The Opportunity
You'll be responsible for high-quality audit delivery, client relationship leadership, and team development, with a focus on both compliance and commercial growth:
- Act as Responsible Individual (RI) for audit engagements, ensuring full regulatory compliance and professional standards
- Lead audits end-to-end, from planning through to final sign-off, across a varied client base
- Serve as the primary client contact, building strong relationships and delivering trusted advice
- Provide strategic guidance on financial reporting, governance, and audit quality
- Support client growth, identifying opportunities for additional services and cross-referrals
- Mentor and develop audit colleagues, fostering an inclusive, high-performance culture
- Collaborate with wider teams to deliver integrated, value-added solutions
Candidate Requirements
- ACA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualified
- Audit Responsible Individual (RI) status
- Proven experience in audit and accounts within professional practice
- Strong technical knowledge of audit, regulatory standards, and financial reporting
- Experienced in managing senior client relationships and driving team performance
- Commercially minded and confident in business development and client retention
