I'm working exclusively with a leading national accountancy firm with strong international reach to support the growth of their corporate audit team in Manchester. Due to a robust pipeline of new work, they are looking to appoint a qualified audit professional who is ready to take ownership of client relationships and play a key role in the team's continued expansion.
The Audit Manager Opportunity
This role offers genuine scope to lead audits end to end, work with a diverse and increasingly complex client base, and progress within a firm that invests heavily in its people and culture.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading audits from planning through to completion, ensuring delivery to budget, timeline and quality standards
- Acting as relationship lead for a portfolio of corporate audit clients
- Managing and developing on-site audit teams, providing coaching, feedback and progression support
- Researching and resolving technical audit and accounting issues, escalating where appropriate
- Preparing and presenting planning and completion reports to senior stakeholders and boards
- Managing WIP, billings and engagement economics across your portfolio
The Ideal Profile for the Audit Manager in Manchester
- ACA / ACCA / ICAS (or equivalent) qualified
- Strong technical grounding in UK auditing and accounting standards
- Experience managing audits for larger or more complex groups, including consolidated structures
- Confident client-facing professional, able to provide pragmatic advice while managing risk
- Proven people manager with a collaborative, developmental leadership style
- Comfortable operating in a fast-growing, opportunity-rich environment
