Job Title: Commercial Finance Analyst
Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

KEY PURPOSE OF THE JOB
To drive effective financial planning, control, and governance of fixed costs across the organisation. This role encompasses management of fixed cost budgets, ensuring compliance through precise coding and purchase requisition approvals, and providing timely reporting and insights to inform strategic decisions. The position of Commercial Finance Analyst also oversees internal control submissions, maintains audit readiness, and partners with departments to uphold robust financial discipline and transparency.


As a Commercial Finance Analyst you will have the following key accountabilities


Compliance and Ethical Standards Uphold ethical standards in line with Daimler AG Policies and the Company's Compliance Guidelines, including Anti-Bribery and competition law.
Fixed Cost Budget Control (30%) Manage Truck fixed cost budgets by cost centre and GL codes. Prepare accruals, review budget performance, and approve purchase requisitions for accurate coding and compliance.
Monthly Reporting & KPI Tracking (15%) Deliver monthly performance reports and KPIs. Provide insights on cost trends, risks, and opportunities.
Month-End Financial Processes (15%) Process monthly accruals, prepayments, recharges, and provisions. Ensure accurate balance sheet reconciliations for G&A and Marketing costs.
Budgeting & Forecasting (20%) Lead annual budgeting and re-forecasts for all G&A including Marketing. Apply zero-based budgeting methodologies to drive cost efficiency.
Stakeholder Engagement & Cost Challenge (10%) Conduct monthly reviews with budget holders. Challenge variances and support cost control to maintain budgets at or below target.
Internal Control System (ICS) Management (10%) Oversee ICS submission process, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external audit standards.
KEY SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • Professional accounting qualification (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in cost controlling or financial planning
  • Strong forecasting and financial data analysis capabilities
  • Zero-Based Budgeting experience
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, Power Pivot, Power Query, Power BI, Power Automate, SAP & SAC (Cloud) including CO-PA and FI Modules
  • Excellent communication and organisational abilities, with the capacity to articulate financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders
  • Confident in engaging and constructively challenging stakeholders at all levels, including senior management
  • Knowledge of the automotive or motor industry is advantageous
