The role in context
This Tax Manager position sits at the heart of the finance function, covering compliance, reporting and advisory work across multiple jurisdictions. You'll be trusted to run things day to day, while also getting involved in projects that stretch beyond routine filing deadlines. What you'll be doing
- Managing and reviewing UK corporation tax computations and returns, alongside selected international filings
- Leading year-end tax reporting under UK GAAP and IFRS
- Providing tax input on group projects including restructures, acquisitions and financing activity
- Overseeing indirect taxes such as VAT, PAYE, P11Ds, PSAs, R&D claims and Patent Box
- Acting as the main point of contact for HMRC enquiries and audits
- Keeping on top of legislative change and flagging risks and planning opportunities
- Supporting transfer pricing documentation and cross-border compliance
- Coordinating with external advisers, auditors and overseas finance teams
What we're looking for
- Professionally qualified ACA, ACCA or CTA with Typically 5+ years post-qualified experience in corporate tax, either in-house or from practice
- Strong grounding in UK corporate tax with exposure to international and cross-border matters
- Comfortable dealing with HMRC and interpreting complex legislation
- Experience of tax accounting under UK GAAP and IFRS
- A pragmatic communicator who can translate tax into something the business actually understands
