Senior Tax Accountant
We are currently partnering with a well-established, independent accounting and advisory firm that is experiencing rapid growth and expanding its strategic presence across multiple locations in the United States.
Our client is seeking an experienced Tax & Accounting Senior to join their team. This is a varied role offering a strong mix of general accounting responsibilities and income tax preparation. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing financial transactions, overseeing assigned workloads, and supporting both clients and junior staff.
This position requires a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment. The role also involves regular interaction with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyse and review general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy, including journal entries and period-end closings
- Support all aspects of tax work, including planning, preparation, compliance, and research
- Prepare a range of tax returns, including individual, fiduciary, corporate, partnership, and multi-state filings
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with senior leadership and contribute to ad hoc projects and assignments
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting (required)
- CPA qualified or actively pursuing certification
- Minimum of 5+ years' experience within a public accounting firm
- Familiarity with accounting and tax software (e.g. tax preparation and research tools, Microsoft Office, and accounting platforms preferred)
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Position Details:
- Full-time, hybrid working arrangement
- Standard hours aligned with US East Coast (EST), with additional hours required during peak periods
- Candidates must be able to reliably commute to or relocate to the local office location prior to starting
Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive salary in the range of $100,000 - $115,000, depending on experience
