This permanent opportunity is ideal for a qualified professional who enjoys leading audits, mentoring others and building strong client relationships. As an Audit Supervisor, you'll work across a broad portfolio of owner-managed businesses and SMEs, gaining exposure to a wide range of sectors while developing your technical and leadership skills. The successful candidate will join a respected Accountancy firm based in Surrey, with flexible hybrid working available.
What you'll be doing
- Leading statutory audit assignments from planning through to completion.
- Managing audit fieldwork, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Performing audit planning, risk assessments and identifying key audit areas.
- Designing and reviewing substantive testing and analytical review procedures.
- Reviewing the work of junior team members and providing coaching and constructive feedback.
- Preparing and reviewing financial statements together with audit reports.
- Producing audit completion documentation, including audit highlights reports for senior management.
- Reviewing forecasts, sensitivity analysis and challenging key assumptions.
- Completing adjusted and unadjusted differences schedules and reassessing audit risk throughout engagements.
- Liaising with internal tax specialists regarding tax provisions and compliance matters.
- Monitoring audit quality, efficiency and ensuring files are completed to a high standard.
- Supporting, mentoring and appraising junior members of the audit team.
- Building positive relationships with clients and acting as a trusted point of contact.
What we're looking for
- ACA or ACCA qualified, or an internationally recognised equivalent qualification.
- Previous experience leading external audit assignments within an Accountancy practice.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK audit and financial reporting standards.
- Confident reviewing financial statements and audit files.
- Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
- A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience supervising and developing junior staff.
- Positive, adaptable and collaborative attitude.
