The Role
As an Accounts Senior, you'll manage a broad portfolio of clients, ensuring work is delivered accurately, efficiently and to a consistently high standard. You'll work closely with senior leadership while supporting the development of junior team members and contributing to the continued success of the accountancy practice in London.
What you'll be doing
- Reviewing and preparing statutory accounts for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies.
- Overseeing bookkeeping assignments and maintaining accurate accounting records.
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns and management accounts.
- Assisting with budgets, cash flow forecasting and financial reporting.
- Preparing and reviewing corporation tax computations, including deferred tax calculations and P11D submissions.
- Supporting clients with business advisory projects, investigations and ad hoc financial analysis.
- Reviewing commercial contracts and agreements where required.
- Providing guidance and constructive feedback to junior team members.
- Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a trusted point of contact.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across audit, tax, payroll and business services.
- Managing multiple assignments while ensuring deadlines and quality standards are consistently achieved.
- Following professional standards, maintaining compliance and identifying potential business risks.
- Supporting business development and marketing initiatives where appropriate.
- Continuing your own professional development and contributing to a positive team culture.
What we're looking for
- ACA or ACCA qualified.
- Around 3-5 years' experience within a UK accountancy practice.
- Strong knowledge of UK accounts preparation, VAT and corporation tax.
- Experience preparing management accounts and financial reports.
- Good understanding of bookkeeping principles.
- Confident using Xero and/or QuickBooks.
- Strong Excel and general IT skills.
- Experience with CaseWare would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
- Excellent analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines.
- Professional communication skills with a client-focused approach.
- A proactive attitude with a desire to mentor others and continue developing professionally.
