Clear route to Management

I'm working with a growing accountancy practice in Birmingham looking to recruit a Senior Accountant to join its accounts team.

This is a great opportunity for someone with at least two years' practice experience who wants to broaden their technical skills, build client relationships and progress their career in a supportive environment.

The role offers a varied workload across statutory accounts, management accounts, corporation tax and personal tax, with exposure to more specialist projects as your experience develops.

The role

• Preparation of statutory accounts for limited companies and small to medium-sized groups.

• Preparation of management accounts and financial reporting.

• Corporation tax computations and returns, alongside personal tax work.

• Reviewing VAT returns and dealing with queries.

• Liaising directly with clients and building strong working relationships.

• Supporting junior team members and working closely with managers.

• Dealing with external audit queries and contributing to ad hoc projects, including valuations, due diligence and forensic assignments.

What they're looking for

• At least two years' experience within an accountancy practice.

• ACA/ACCA qualified, part-qualified or currently studying towards a professional qualification.

• Experience across accounts preparation and tax, with a desire to continue developing technically.

• Good communication skills and the confidence to deal with clients.

• A proactive, organised approach, with strong attention to detail.

• Experience with Xero is important; knowledge of Iris, QuickBooks, Sage 50 or Alpha would be beneficial.
